My name is Biruk Abebe and I am the owner and operator of Biruk Ethiopia Tour and car rental. I was born and raised in Addis Ababa.
I am married to a wonderful wife and we have two great kids.
I am fully licensed as a tour operator and to drive in Ethiopia. I have been driving tourists and locals throughout Ethiopia since 2005. I am familiar with every corner of my beautiful country!
I work hard to make sure all my clients are happy with their trip, budget and all arrangements. I don't like surprises any more than you do! So I plan very carefully to anticipate your needs.

I've been to Ethiopia twice this year and both of the times used Biruk's services. Every trip was a different and unique experience.
We went to the south to visit the Omo valley and see the tribes. Biruk gave us an organized program about the whole week and was patient about our questions and request.
Although we had a plan, Biruk was flexible and attentive to all our needs.
The car was safe and comfortable. Besides being a carful driver, Biruk took care of the car and cleaned it every morning before we started our journey. He had a lot of information about the road and the different tribes even though he wasn't the official guide.
As I said, we just knew that our needs going to be taken care all along.
At the end we got above all a good person and a friend.

I had the pleasure of using Biruk from Biruk Ethiopia Tours as our driver and guide for a trip to Bale Mountain National Park in February 2017. We were a group of 5 people (myself that is residing in Ethiopia and 4 visiting friends) driving to Bale from Addis Ababa in a rented 4WD that Biruk normally drives. Biruk was besides being a safe and focused driver also pleasant company and he could answer almost of all of our strange questions regarding the culture, the nature and the people of Ethiopia.

I wholeheartedly recommend our guide/driver Biruk. Nice, communicative and very sympathetic - he lives in Addis. We stayed with him a few weeks (Omo Valley, Yabelo, Awasa, Harar, Jimma, Bahir Dar, Lalibela) and we never had any problems. Biruk was always punctual, competent, flexible and foresighted - he informed us on a regular basis if he expected any complications. He also tried to find a less commercial village in Omo Valley. He can arrange accommodation in tribal villages, for example. Hamer or Karo.
